Course Description

Skill Level: Beginner-Intermediate Format: | Small-Group, Live Virtual Duration: Weeklong program, 3 hours per day About This Course Coding skills are among the most in-demand in today’s job market, and this introduction to computational thinking is the perfect way to gain real-world experience. You’ll start with the basics and then expand your knowledge by building object-oriented architectures, creating algorithms, and completing coding challenges in Python, the fastest-growing programming language. You’ll build logic games, solve artificial intelligence puzzles, and even explore creating a simple neural network. With this experience, you’ll be prepared for wherever your computer science career takes you, from software engineering to machine learning! Course Outline • Explore Python Fundamentals: Explore Python fundamentals through an introduction to variables, conditional statements, loops, and functions. Students will code basic projects such as a MadLib story, a Guess the Number game, or a Fortune Teller game. • Create Logic-Based Applications: Building on their knowledge, students will delve deeper into Python programming by creating logic-based applications using object-oriented concepts and exploring popular Python libraries and algorithm design. • Learn Advanced Concepts Using Tensorflow: students will explore machine learning and neural network basics while learning advanced programming concepts using TensorFlow. • Build Final Project: Students will build their final project to close the course using their advanced coding and computational thinking skills. • Finalize Projects with a Solid Understanding of Python Concepts: To wrap up the week, students will finalize their projects and finish strong with a solid understanding of Python programming concepts.
